Matcott Breaks South Australian Greyhound Training Record
Murray Bridge greyhound trainer Shaun Matcott has scored one of the break throughs of his training career, beating the record for training the most South Australian TAB winners in a calendar year.
As of November 18, Matcott and wife Wendy had trained 377 winners, beating the previous record of 375 winners, formerly owned by another Murray Bridge trainer, Steve Collins.

Bunyip Gawler Gold Cup Heats Draw Hot Fields
The focus of racing shifts to Gawler next week for the running of the Bunyip Gawler Gold Cup.
At close of nominations, GRSA had received fifty nominations and will be running six heats. The heats will be run next Tuesday (11th), with the $25,000 Group 3 Final on Sunday the 16th November.

SA GBOTA & Gawler Clubs Signal Amalgamation
In a joint state today issued by the Chairs of the SA GBOTA (who run the straight track coursing at Virginia) and the Gawler Greyhound Racing Club; both clubs have expressed a desire to combine and approach Greyhound Racing South Australia (GRSA) to sign off on the deal.
Part of the deal will see the new entity approach GRSA to establish a new greyhound racing venue in South Australia comprising a straight track, a one turn track and an “eight bend” track.

Everlong Bale Bolts In Toward Port Pirie Cup
Two strong heats for the Cup final were conducted on Sunday 5th of October, with the first being won by Everlong Bale in 30.52 and winning by over 10 lengths. The Shaun Matcott trained bitch is the winner of the recent Strathalbyn Cup and may start favourite in the final on that performance.

No Race Dates For Murray Bridge Straight Track
Following investigations with Murray Bridge Greyhound Racing Club, GOTBA and track inspections of their respective facilities, a recommendation went to the GRSA Board for straight track racing to be allocated to the Murray Bridge race track for a period of 18 months.

Coca Cola SA Derby Heats On Wednesday
GRSA will run the Heats of the Coca-Cola Derby next Wednesday at Angle Park. At the close of nominations Friday, threw were 30 greyhounds entered, meaning that there will be four heats run on Wednesday.

Angle Park And Mount Gambier Fields To Be Redrawn
Operations Manager for Greyhound Racing SA, Mr Peter Smith, has advised that all fields for the Angle Park meeting set down for Thursday 3rd April 2008 will be redrawn and the previously isssued box draw will be cancelled.
This announcement comes in the wake of complaints from some trainers that there nominations were not considered for the Angle Park meeting.

Kulpara Greyhound Races Cancelled
The meeting listed for Kulpara on Saturday 15th March 2008 has been cancelled due to the hot weather predicted for the rest of the week.
The Club is concerned that they will not be able to water the grass track sufficiently for this meeting to proceed.
