Queensland Greyhound Racing Moves Another Step Closer To Logan
Logan is a step closer to becoming a major Greyhound Racing hub, with the sport’s peak control body commissioning a survey of Slacks Creek’s Cronulla Park.

Today’s Wangaratta meeting has gone ahead though with temps in the 35C’s and rising rapidly.

GRV Court Disaster With Non Existent Heat Policy

While cancellations have been the norm in the thoroughbred codes for the past few days, and GRSA have cancelled three meetings due to temperatures being forecast to go past the 40C mark; Greyhound Racing Victoria seems to have adopted a “turnover at all costs” attitude.

Kennels Will Open Early At Sandown Tonight Due To Heat
A contingency plan has been put in place to accommodate greyhound trainers arriving early at Sandown Park tonight in order to get greyhounds out of the heat as early as possible.
In short, the kennel block will be open at approximately 5.00pm and kennelling will commence five minutes earlier at 5.45pm.
Angle Park Cancelled
Tonight’s Angle Park race meeting has been cancelled due to the continuing extreme heat conditions in Adelaide.
GRSA officials had hoped to run the meeting, however following yesterday’s extreme conditions it was considered dangerous to the welfare of the greyhounds.
