Mudgee Man Takes Casino’s Blue Paws Final
Fastest qualifier Mudgee Man put in a concerted effort over the last few strides to take out the rich Blue Paws Final at Casino last Friday.
Early leader, and favourite Bralyn Shorty, looked to have an unassailable lead when he sped out of the boxes and held a big advantage going into the back straight. Slowly and surely Mudgee Man chipped away at that advantage, and dived on the wire to score by a half length.
The time of 23.12 was the best of the day on a track that had received two deluges over the previous two nights. The Trevor Salmoni trained sprinter is now racing in the best form of his career.

Forty Twenty Scores Maidment Memorial Win
Forty Twenty claimed the second Group race of his career with a hard fought victory in the $36,000 Group 2 Maidment Memorial at Sandown Park tonight.
Having his second start at Sandown Park, Forty Twenty ($5.10) showed great track sense to rail strongly after a poor start and took up second position behind favourite Next Top Model ($1.60) as they entered the home straight the first time.
Forty Twenty continued to rail, taking the lead as Join The Queue ($37.70) made his run. However the Central Coast stayer never left the rail in the run to the line and defeated Next Top Model by 2.75 lengths in 42.45.

Amity Bale Honoured As Sandown 2009 Greyhound Of The Year
Amity Bale was named the 2009 Sandown Greyhound of the Year at Sandown Park tonight.
Trained by Graeme Bate for leviathan owner/breeder Paul Wheeler, the black Sonic Flight – Evonne Bale bitch joined an elite group of greyhounds to win over both Sandown Park distances, and became just the second greyhound after Mantra Lad to break 30 seconds for the sprint, and 42 seconds over the â€half-mile’.
She had nine starts over the sprint trip in 2009 for two wins (29.89, 29.98) and four minor placings, but it was over the distance that she established herself as one of the nation’s best stayers.

Stewards were scheduled to open an inquiry into “Team Bundy” at the offices of Greyhound Racing SA on the 25th January 2010.
Team Bundy’s Manager Mr Gully, this week failed to appear at the scheduled inquiry and continues to fail to provide details of syndicate members as requested by Stewards at GRSA.
