He’s Classy & Kidatee Alf Big Casinon Winners Despite Age
He’s Classy may be getting into the veteran class, but he showed he is still racing in great zest by winning his first distance start at Casino last Friday. He has been finishing off his races well, so trainer Alf Love decided to try him over the longer trip with great success.
He powered into the race after a lap, and ran away from his rivals to win by three lengths. His time of 35.85 is very competitive, and showed another win is not far away. Alf Love, always a gentleman, is somewhat of a veteran himself, having being around greyhounds for longer than he can remember.
Keeping with “oldies” theme was another winner, Kidatee Alf. He was having his one hundredth start in the Casino RSM Club Free For All, and reading the script well, was able to record an all of the way win. He ran 23.11, just outside his personal best in holding on from Karanne Star to score by a half length.

Fancy Mandy Draws Well In 2010 Golden Easter Egg Semis
Fresh from her near track record performance during the heats, rising NSW star Fancy Mandy will again begin from box four in the semi-finals of the $250,000 to the winner Group 1 Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.
Despite the challenge of again starting from the squeeze box, Fancy Mandy looks to have secured one of the weaker semi finals, and would be considered a warm favourite to advance to the Golden Easter Egg final on Saturday 3rd April 2010.
Tracey Hurst’s brilliant beginner made a mockery of her awkward box four draw last week to record the second fastest ever time over the 520m trip at Wentworth Park – just 0.05 second, or less than a length; shy of Queen Lauryn’s 29.44 track record mark.

Fancy Mandy Blitzes 2010 Golden Easter Egg Heats In Style
Fancy Mandy burnt up the Wentworth Park track to easily be the fastest qualifier after the heats of the Group One Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg (520m) on Saturday night.
Drawn awkwardly in box four, the NSW sprinting star clocked a mind-boggling 29.49s to enhance her prospects in the richest free entry race in the world carrying a $250,000 first prize.
Trainer Frank Hurst was stunned by the time, which was just 0.05s outside of Queen Lauryn’s track record, and doubted whether Fancy Mandy could go faster in next week’s semi-finals.

Wilkinson Wins A Treble At Casino Greyhounds As An Owner
Local owner and breeder Mavis Wilkinson had plenty to celebrate last Friday when three greyhounds she owns saluted at the Casino meeting. Kicking off the day was the win of Midnight Mischief, who, in a dazzling display, went straight to the front in the opening maiden.
She is trained for Mavis by Glen Northfield and scored by 3 1/2 lengths in a handy 23.52. The next race produced Kenstrelle who took over at the first turn and booted away to win by four lengths in 23.10.
His litter brother, and highly promising galloper, Hayden’s Run completed a memorable day for Mavis when he ran the best of the day (22.75), in winning the Westlawn Finance stake. This time is only three 100′s outside the track record, and he won running away by 6 1/4 lengths.

GRNSW Take Greyhound Racing Integrity To New Heights With Out Of Competition Testing
GRNSW have this morning confirmed that punters can bet with confidence in this weekends Group 1 Golden Easter Egg and Group 3 Multiquip Magic Maiden heats.
That confidence stems from the exemplary standard set by GRNSW Stewards who have moved the bar on racing integrity in Greyhound Racing, by being the first state to conduct serious out of competition testing of greyhounds engaged in the two big feature races.
Specifically, GRNSW have announced they have tested over 60 greyhounds nominated for the 2010 Golden Easter Egg and Magic Maiden heats. Those test are to be analysed for erythropoietin, more commonly known as EPO; and its derivatives.
