National Capital Distance Champs Warm Up
As Canberra gets set to hit full gear with the heats of the Lockwood National Capital Distance Championship, Sundays prelude meeting laid the perfect foundation for what is bound to be a great series.
The prelude full of quality runners including Licence To Dance, Money Magnet, Bunny’s Reward, Kite Street and Osti’s Exposure were all outclassed by Victorian Regal Thyme who had his first look at the track to beat home Osti’s Exposure who has just returned to the staying races, Money Magnet coming in third.
While the time wasn’t sizzling the race still produced plenty, wetting the appetite of race goers for this Sunday’s heats.

Victor Lane Caps A Day Of Doubles At Canberra
Doubles were the theme of racing on Saturday night in the all trophy meeting organised by the social club.
Reefton trainers Margaret and Sean Bannerman toping the doubles with a sizzling 25.18 victory to Victor Lane before Tinashe Bale returned to her good form off the one box in a smart 30.68 run.
Jerrawa trainer Ian McFarlane also lining up a double with up and comers of the kennel Hotel Splendido and Trimtex posting hot runs to take out their respective events.

The Jodie Gilbert Show Rolls On At Canberra
In a good mix of races on Sunday evening it was Jodie Gilbert’s kennels which took home the most winners, with Teeny Tiny the most impressive, recording a 25.30 win.
The Stuart Dickinson owned Cawbourne line prevailing in five other events as Cawbourne Texas, Click, Norma, Rye and Madge all clocked up wins at good returns for connections.
Black Bitch Teeny Tiny the greyhound tipped to follow from connections after flying the lids clocking an 8.17 first section, the Primo Uno x In The Window bitch went on with the run beating home favourite Milk Run and Rosey’s Bond.
