Outstanding Youngsters Hit The Gardens For The Mega Maiden Heats
Some of the best bred greyhounds in the country will converge on The Gardens today for the heats of the Greyhound Recorder Mega Maiden with the aim of making it into next week’s rich final worth $15,000 to the winner.
Sons of 2006 Australian Greyhound of the Year, Betty’s Angel and her Group One winning litter sister, Leprechaun Pace headline an outstanding crop of youngsters that are set to clash in the prestigious maiden series.

The kick off the heats we have a very interesting affair. Cousin Callum has trialled in slick time for top trainers Ray and Sharron Webster and is from the outstanding Thai Magic. Bitten is a half sister to record breakers Bartrim bale and Princess Bale as well atop galloper Whitfield Bale, while Splendourous is from the strong Loraine Atchison breed.

Rock Energy Drinks Paws Of Thunder Semi Finals Box Draws
Following ten heats on Saturday night at Wentworth Park a special early box draw for the semi finals of the Group 1 Rock Energy Drinks Paws of Thunder was completed today.
The details of the official draw are published below – the order of running of the semi finals will be finalized when the draw for the balance of Saturday’s program is completed tomorrow at the normal time.
Last year Cosmic Rumble set the time standard of 29.64 in the heats of this race. On Saturday Victorian visitor Cosmic Chief trained by Darren Brown for Brian Parkinson was the fastest heat winner, just shy of Cosmic Rumble’s time last year, with a 29.70.

After the first week of racing for the 2010 TattsBet.com Nationals, we have already confirmed our first Finalist.
Dashing Corsair qualified with a dashing win in the Queensland Distance Final last Thursday. With only six nominations, the Brisbane Club elected to run the “one-off†Final last week.
Dashing Corsair won the race in a smart 41.57, only a couple of lengths off his own track record, and he had 11-1/2 lengths to spare.

NSW State Sprint And Distance Finals Boxdraw Determined
Following Saturday night’s heats the greyhounds going forward to next week’s NSW State Finals of the TattsBet.com AGRA Nationals have been determined.
Three heats of the Sprint Category were conducted over the 520m while two heats were conducted over the 720m in the Distance Category.
Winners of next week’s finals earn $10,000 and the right to represent NSW in the 2010 TattsBet.com AGRA National Championship Finals in Adelaide later this month.

National Distance Championship Detailed Form
The 2009 Group 1 National Distance Championship is just a day away now, with the big final to be run and won tomorrow night. The long awaited race will see the winner walk away with $50,000 first prizemoney, with some interesting trials Victorian Vinatge Octane will be sent out favourite to win.
The sensation of the week was South Australian representative Tafari Bale pulling up in a solo trial over the tomorrow night’s distance, that surely spells the end of any remote hopes he may have had.
Upset New South Wales representative Smashing Amy needs to find about eight lengths on her first trial at Cannington in 42.46, on a night when West Australian hope Red Shilling ran 42.00 dead winning; but does have box one and her best chances are if she can lead as she did in her state final.

Smashing Amy And Did I Entertain Perth Bound
The NSW Finals of the AGRA Schweppes National Sprint and Distance Championships were run tonight to decide who will represent NSW in the national finals at Cannington on September 5.
Each year the National Championships create considerable interest across the country and tonight brought to a close the running of the various State finals for 2009 except for WA with its heats tonight and State finals next Saturday. Tonight’s NSW finals provided two quality fields with several of the contestants in both races fancied to take the first prize and earn a trip to Western Australia to fly the flag for NSW.
Smashing Amy owned by P and M Ferguson and trained by Majella Freguson won the NSW Distance Final and Did I Entertain, owned and trained by Robert Arnold, was successful in the Sprint Final.

Fifty Four Nominations For NSW National Championships
Following the closing of nominations today GRNSW released the lists of greyhounds nominated for the NSW heats of the 2009 AGRA Schweppes National Sprint and Distance Championships.
A total of 38 entries for the sprint category and 16 entries for the distance category have been received to compete in the NSW heats over 520 and 720 metres respectively at Wentworth Park on Saturday night August 15.
Four $5000 to the winner heats have been programmed for each distance category, with the two finals on the following Saturday night August 22 each offering $10,000 to the winner.
