As Canberra gets set to hit full gear with the heats of the Lockwood National Capital Distance Championship, Sundays prelude meeting laid the perfect foundation for what is bound to be a great series.
The prelude full of quality runners including Licence To Dance, Money Magnet, Bunny’s Reward, Kite Street and Osti’s Exposure were all outclassed by Victorian Regal Thyme who had his first look at the track to beat home Osti’s Exposure who has just returned to the staying races, Money Magnet coming in third.
While the time wasn’t sizzling the race still produced plenty, wetting the appetite of race goers for this Sunday’s heats.

In the second SKY Filler meeting for June another strong 11 race card got underway amid difficulties on Saturday night.
Race 1 saw Jodie Gilbert’s first starter Sticky Boots take the cash, though due to power troubles no times or margins were recorded for the event.
The second saw Teddy Two Buck secure his second win for the Can Punt Syndicate, Habmak recording her third runners-up position at Canberra while first starters for the Ping Cut and Motor Syndicate Bella Belinda came in third.

On a perfect autumn day three trainers led in winning doubles on Saturday’s eleven race program at Kennerson Park.
2007 Bathurst GOTY Flying Mitch may be in the twilight of his career but showed he has lost none of his zest for racing by finishing too powerfully for another veteran, Rain King and the talented Merleen in a driving finish clocking 26.09.
Trained locally by Ashley Lamb the son of Just The Best and Agreement has now won 21 races over all four distances on the Bathurst loam. Earlier in the day Lamb’s promising youngster Hot September utilized the eight box to perfection with a fast 30.15 success over Electric cargo and Arrhythmia.
