Matcott Breaks South Australian Greyhound Training Record

Murray Bridge greyhound trainer Shaun Matcott has scored one of the break throughs of his training career, beating the record for training the most South Australian TAB winners in a calendar year.

As of November 18, Matcott and wife Wendy had trained 377 winners, beating the previous record of 375 winners, formerly owned by another Murray Bridge trainer, Steve Collins.

Everlong Bale Bolts In Toward Port Pirie Cup

Two strong heats for the Cup final were conducted on Sunday 5th of October, with the first being won by Everlong Bale in 30.52 and winning by over 10 lengths. The Shaun Matcott trained bitch is the winner of the recent Strathalbyn Cup and may start favourite in the final on that performance.

Coca Cola SA Derby Heats On Wednesday

GRSA will run the Heats of the Coca-Cola Derby next Wednesday at Angle Park. At the close of nominations Friday, threw were 30 greyhounds entered, meaning that there will be four heats run on Wednesday.

Strathalbyn Get Green Light

GRSAGRSA Stewards today inspected the new work completed at the Southern Greyhound Raceway and gave approval for racing to re-commence at Strathalbyn.

Trials set-down for Friday 25th April and the TAB race meeting listed for Sunday 27th April will proceed as programmed.

Track Maintenance Puts Doubt Over Meeting

GRSAGRSA has been advised by the Southern Greyhound Raceway that work on the bottom turn fence and catching pen should be finalised today.

As a result there will be a track inspection tomorrow morning by GRSA stewards.
