2009 Canberra Trainer Of The Year Begins 2010 In Style
As Canberra saw off it’s old track, it was 2009 Canberra Trainer of the Year, Denice Warren, who reigned supreme taking home four winners from five starters on Sunday evening.
The Mummel trainer didn’t walk into the winners circle until the halfway point of the 12 race card but from there it was a showers of victories with Berella Shilo (25.33), Licence To Dance (34.78), Berella Laura (18.13) and Berella Ciata (25.64) all posting three plus length wins.
Berella Shilo probably the pick of the bunch working hard to pick up early leader Plow Master in the Bat’s Fruit Cherry Cup Final over the 440 metre trip, before kicking away to a five length win to return $3.30

Rellim Rosie Headlines Star Studded Western District Sprint Heats
Rellim Rosie heads a star studded list of chasers which will be vying for a place in next week’s final of The Western District Sprint at Ballarat.
The inaugural final to be run over 390 metres is one of the richest sprint races on the Victorian racing calendar.
Rellim Rosie, the current track and distance record holder at Ballarat, has drawn a suitable Box 3 draw in heat five on the program.

Promising Win For Light Of Trey At Casino
Promising puppy Light Of Trey took full advantage of some early scrimmaging to race away with the Casino Rural Traders Christmas Maiden Final last Friday.
Jumping from box two, he was able to position himself on the fence early to stay out of trouble and get a clear passage to the back section.
Chasing keenly to the line, he won by 6 1/4 lengths in a handy 23.12. Peter Simpson trains this 36 kilo dog for Matthew King, and his future looks very bright.
