The first race at Albion is never a easy one and their appears to be three main winning chances. Hanson Harley, Good Call Paul and Captain Ces in boxes three, five and eight respectively. I'm going with Hanson Harley who is the most experienced of the three, although his PB isn't as quick as the other two. He should be able to lead these and will take a power of beating if he does. Good Call Pall has plenty of talent but will need to get away cleanly. Captain Ces looks to be a talented type after winning in 30.40 at Ipswich last start. Spring Charlie looks the best of the rest.

Race 2 MICK BYRNE MEMORIAL 5TH GRADE HEAT 1 520m 7.05pm
Miner's Moss is back from winning the Rockhampton Cup, where he also broke the track record. He looks a moral in this from the perfect draw in box eight. Box one runner Tweed Ace is very talented and has recorded a 30.13 win here and has four wins from eight starts. The box isn't ideal, but he looks second best should he jump. Love Kills is another with plenty of ability, but he begins slowly and will need a little luck in running. He's likely to storm home, but he'll be spotting the leaders to big of a break. Bellisomo Belle is consistent and will be around the money.

Boxes win races and box one bandit Tear Away Size has the cherry. She has run 29.98 here and should lead from start to finish in this railing all the way. Walk With Faith jumps from the six and is a pretty good bitch, but with a poor record here. She can begin, and if she does I expect her to be able to run second. Outta Tempo should get a great cart across and can fill third. Boxes Two, Three, and Four all look genuine places hopes. Luck in running will be a important factor in this race.

Tough race with only a few hopes. Boxes 1,3,4 are the only major hopes of winning, with a slight chance given to Chant. Zali Rose was brilliant Monday night leading all the way in 29.88 and jumps from the coveted red box. Farmers Gold has immense talent and will run on from anywhere in the field and Happy Haswell is only a pup, but can't be dismissed. Expect Zali Rose to lead and she'll go close to leading all the way. Farmers Gold only needs a crack at her early and he'll run right over the top of her.

Race 5 MICK BYRNE MEMORIAL 5TH GRADE HEAT 4 520m 8.05pm
Match race and best race of the night. Two juggernauts go head to head here. Size Does Matter from the cherry and Flash Reality from box two. Flash Reality will start favourite after his near record run last week, but he's no certainty and it's impossible to split the two runners in my opinion. If Size Does Matter leads Flash Reality, that will be a game changer, and he's sure capable of doing so. Expect them to clear away and run first and second.
It's quite hard to sort the best of the rest. It's likely the main pair will kick right away here and that will mean the rest of the pack will be a long way off the bunny. Punters need to look for the dogs who will still give their all from way back. Box six runner High And Mighty and Macgallen from the eight could be those two. The rest generally need to lead to win in their races.

Race 6 WINTER CHASE HEAT 1 710m 8.25pm
Tough race with a few chances. I'm going with Set Her Again despite only winning in fair time last week. She didn't show much speed early and was lucky to win. She's better than that and should bounce back to her best. Benarkin loves it here and is likely to take up the lead at some stage. Starliner is a quality animal, but it's been a while since he really fired. Golfing Amy is a nice young dog and can run, but probably lacks the speed to stay in touch with these.

Race 7 WINTER CHASE HEAT 2 710m 8.44pm
Box four Wag Tail wins this, but don't expect it to be easy and I think our hearts will be in a mouths at some stage. Their is a couple debuting at the trip here and they could stop her from dictating the way she likes early. However she looks too classy. Late Angel Lee is a super talent and genuine group one dog, but lay the pants off him. He can't run 710 metres and it's unlikely that will change tonight.
Hougenie could run a place, Eleazar gets her chance, whilst White Hornet and My Illision could be place threats.

Race 8 BEST 8 520m 9.08pm
Best 8s are never easy and it's another tough race to decipher. Box five runner Captain Clarrie is flying at present and can win should he lead. Top Story is a brilliant dog who returned last week with a solid third after weakening in the run to the line. Rose Of Galo scorches out but needs to set up a big lead, something she's unlikely to do tonight. Body Line will run on and can grab fourth.

Another tough race to sort out. Washington Trick gets the nod from me out of box one. He's well drawn and can run time on the bunny, he should lead and win. No excuses if he's doesn't. Box eight runner Fawn Corsair is a super talent, but he'll get burnt off early. He's super strong though and can rattle home for second. Jungle Junction isn't racing well, but can finish third. Give You Credit is clearly the best of the rest.

Another tough heat, but the talented Peter's Pick is drawn to win. He needs clear room early and needs to get to the outside, but he should do that and win. King Elliot was slow to begin last week, but I expect him to fire out tonight. New Gleam is back in form and could rail all the way. All You Can is perfectly drawn in the seven, but isn't the same class as these. She'll get a gun run and could knock them off if trouble eventuates.
