Greyhound Racing Tips For Monday 1st June 2009

Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's free Greyhound Racing Tips for Monday 1st June 2009 with Tips tonight from (Victoria), Wentworth Park (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland) and (New South Wales).

Saturday night's tips were a little off, especially with the wet track at Wentworth Park, throwing up all sorts of results, and even The Meadows continuing the odd runof rough results from Victoria's two main metropolitan tracks.

That said we managed to find more than a few winners including Royal Nelson who was ideally boxed and performed accordingly, going past the post first for $6+ collect for our followers.

With racing tonight from Cranbourne (Victoria), Wentworth Park (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland) and Angle Park (New South Wales), lets just review some of our betting advice for the way those tracks play.

Cranbourne races over the 311m, 520m and 699m distances. Punters should stay away from the 311m races as a short run to the first corner cause unpredictable results and leaders usually win. Box 8 is a huge advantage in these races.

The 520m distance runs more consistently and the track show a more normal distribution of the four “bookend” boxes performing best. The 699m races are run infrequently and usually contain one standout selection.

Wentworth Park went from being a very fair track to a leader biased track with the addition of “transition turns” to the corners in the mid 90's. Leaders have been advantaged ever since that track modification and consequently red are small advantage over both the 520m and 720m distances now.

Albion Park was the first track in Australia to move to the finish-on lure system and it is definitely the better of the two Queensland TAB tracks. A lack of depth in a lot of races can cause upsets at Albion Park when favourites are over-rated or suffer interference. Tread warily when betting on the corner start 600m races; and the 700m races will often throw up odds-on favourites that have alot of weakness about them.

Angle Park is all about leading to the first corner, class dogs will knock up winning in South Australia as their is a definite lack of depth, even at higher grades. Again be wary of betting in 600m and 700m events at Angle Park as in many cases it is just the last throw of the dice for connections and there are very few genuine stayers.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 1 – Box 5 – Bart Allover

Ron Bell has had some handy greyhounds recently and Bart Allove rlooks like another likely type, having won 4 of 6 starts with a further 2nd winning at and Wentworth Park. Has led all the way at every start except the last start at Maitland and should be untroubled to do the same again here. Has run 30.24 wining here and that'll be good enough for this.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 2 – Box 4 – Teeny Tiny

Teeny Tiny created a huge impression at her first run in Australia at running a easy 25.30 and winning by 4.5 lengths. Was a top grade greyhound in New Zealand prior to that and will not have a lot of trouble leading and winnning this.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 3 – Magic City

Magic City provided and Jodie Gilbert their first metro win on their return from New Zealand and did so emphatically winning at near double figure odds from box 4 running 30.23. Returns to Wenty tonight after a half length 2nd at Canberra and a last start third here last week and will go very close again.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 4 – Box 7 – Rough ‘Em Up

Get all over Rough ‘Em Up here, who was a devastating here who backed up a best of day Canberra win with a 29.19 last to first win at Bulli. Admitedly the Bulliw win was a dead heat and was plodding at best, but the greyhound has obvious ability and draws a wide box here tonight as in his Canberra win. Didn't look 100% comfortable under greyhounds last week at Bulli and is boxed to show his best from the outside here tonight.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 8 – Cawbourne Tuf

is entitled to blow this field away based on his 3 Canberra wins in a row, but will be sent out at odds based on a very ordinary Bulli debut from box 3 behind Zacharie Bale. But the dog is more than handy and is in a kennel that more than dominated Wentworth Park greyhound racing and New South Wales as a whole before some issues and there departure to New Zealand. Be warned if you are not a beleiver now, your bankroll will suffer. They will again dominate greyhound racing in New South Wales so as punters we might as well ride the wave with them, not against them.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 6 – Box 1 – Magnifique

Magnifique will start under the odds sligjhtly in this, as his recent races have been exceptional and lost no fans with his short loss to Last Man Out in the Group 3 Bulli Gold Cup. Was in front before and after the post on that occassion and has run 30.03 here, so is as good as any in this race. Just suffers from a slight lack of toe and the want to get off the fence a little which is a lsight worry from box 1. Should win this, but if we're in front by now it's an easy race to avoid.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 7 – Box 8 – Bunny's Reward

Another Gilbert/Lord runner who has only had the one start in Australia since returning from NZ. Absolutely smashed Cawbourne Bullet first up at Bulli leading all the way from box 3 and can see no reason she won't do the same again tonight from this box. Winner of 7 of 12 starts with 2 minors and looks a cut above these.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 3 – Smart Betsy

Smart Betsy was a more than handy sprinter who successfully tranbsitioned to staying with a very handy 42.61 all the way staying debut here 2 weeks ago. Many on pace stayers can suffer from a second up syndrome so the 2 week break bodes well for her return here. Will definitely lead and only fatigue will beat here. In many of these races the runners off the pace are “only just chasing” so happy to be on a very classy greyhound who may not yet be a genuine stayer but gets the distance.

Angle Park Greyhounds – Race 7 – Box 1 – Peerless Pal

Despite the fact Humming Brock has been in amazing form, Peerless Pal has really captured the SA greyhound racing public's attention lately with 3 very good wins in 29.98, 29.84 and 30.23. Last win especially good as he didn't lead early, but from box 1 tonight will get every chance to lead and should prove too good again.
