2014 Group Three Young Stars Classic Heats Preview

will bring seven chasers into Saturday nights Three at . Six of those chasers are litter siblings out of – Starlight Delly who have hit WA soil with a bang, all recording wins around the 30.50 mark in their limited starts. Tureaud is the standout so far stopping the clock at a sizzling 30.14 at just his fifth career start.

Heat One – 8.07pm

Astronomize will be jumping from box six in the first heat of the night. The red brindle chaser crossed well from box seven in his qualifying trial after jumping quickly out of the boxes therefore box six shouldn't hold as many issues for him as other chasers. It will be hard to catch him if he finds the lead early since he comes into the heat with the fastest recorded time to his name (30.51).

Starlight Jack is a quick jumping chaser who will exit out of box two. He has early speed on the outside of him in Cork Popper, which should see the pair vie for the lead on the rails. He is a very strong contender in the race with his biggest threat coming from litter-brother and kennel-mate Astronomize.

Cork Popper for Ben Abercrombie is jumping from a much waited for inside draw of box three. She will have plenty of pressure around her out of the boxes with Starlight Jack and Astronomize and she probably won't be able to win this event even with improvement, but she is very big place chance.

Alotta Luck is the only chaser who has made the trip over to run in the group three heats. She can be hit and miss out of the boxes which will make jumping from box eight that little bit more daunting. Strength shouldn't be an issue for the daughter of after competing in a number of 595 races at Park. She is going to need a lot to go right for her to win this race and her first Cannington start, she is a better place chance.

Heat Two – 8.27pm

Quartz Bale is the one chaser Stuart has in the heats outside of his Kinloch Brae – Starlight Delly litter. The light fawn chaser has seven starts to his name for seven wins, three of those from outside boxes. This heat looks to be no exception; his personal best time of 30.28 is quickest recorded time in heat. Box seven should be no issue, another win on the cards.

Sitar Monelli (box two) isn't the fastest out of the boxes and will more then likely stay in the back end of the field for the first half of the race. His speed and strength in the second half of running is exciting viewing, but has cost him a few races because he has been unable to get his nose in front. The David Hobby trained chaser is in with a very good chance but this week he will be chasing down the likes of Downlight and Quartz Bale which won't be an easy task.

Downlight hasn't taken the red rug off in two starts and the trend continues in this heat. The cherry box and a fast start out of the boxes should see him as the likely leader, he will need to gather as much ground as he can on the field with the likes of Quartz Bale and Sitar Monelli chasing him down.

Romeo's Comet is a capable chaser on his night but will struggle in this company. He is yet to win from box four from two starts. His personal best time of 30.59 shows he is capable of good times, but if he is to come away with the victory he must do something special. He is a better outside place chance.

Heat Three – 8.42pm

Wired For Speed is vying for her sixth win in a row in the last heat of the night. The light brindle chaser has a personal best time of 30.48 which she recorded from box eight. She is likely to be at the front end of the field out of the boxes from box six with Kalden Kamanchee right there with her. If she finds enough of the lead and there is trouble behind she will be hard to beat.

Tureaud is coming back to the track after two months on the sidelines and will jump from box three. The talented chaser has had seven starts for six wins and a second; he also holds a personal best time of 30.14. He wont see the lead early with the likes of Wired For Speed and Kalden Kamanchee in the race so he will be relying on a clear run to take out this race.

Kalden Kamanchee has come back from two months on the sidelines in fine form winning three out of four starts. The wide box won't bother the white and blue chaser after he won two starts back from the same box (seven). There are a number talented chasers in this race which will make things hard for him and therefore he is a much better place chance.

My Party has the favourable box one and he will need all the help he can get if he is to run over the top of this field. He should improve on the personal best time he set last week of 30.81 with the help of box one, but he is likely to be running for a place with the standard of dog in this race.

First, second and the two fastest thirds will make up next weeks Group Three Young Star Classic over the 530 metre distance. The young talent on the WA racing scene will have to put their best paw forward for the chance to win a share of the $37,000 next week.
