Dyna Tron Named Australia’s Best Greyhound For Month Of December 2011
AGRA's Greyhound of the Month for December is again for the second month in a row brilliant Victorian sprinter Dyna Tron. Continuing his outstanding form from November he started by finishing a gallant second in the Group 1 Brisbane Cup behind Glen Gallon. Then he went to Hobart winning his heat and a thrilling final of the Group 1 Hobart 1000 when back on a horse shoe track at Elwick.
In Hobart Dyna Tron was outstanding in winning his heat on December the 8th in a fast 25.78. Back for the final on December 15th he staged a battle royal with local sprint star Rewind he led, was headed then came again in the home straight to win right on the line in a close photo finish. Time was another quick run of 25.85.
As a refresher before a slight let up Dyna Tron won a Free For All at the Meadows on Xmas eve in 29.96. The Broadmeadows track is a happy hunting ground for him, as his Xmas eve win was his fifth on the track.
In an amazing end to the year I can't remember since Rapid Journey in 1998 a greyhound having such a dominating effect on the sprint scene in a short period of time.
Prior to his Geelong Cup win in early November his prizemoney stood at a respectable $63,000 it has now jumped to over $422,000 in eight weeks and he stands 13th on the all-time stake earning table and is almost certain to enter the top ten in the New Year.
Dyna Tron has a number of options in 2012 starting with the Cranbourne and Warragul Cups then on to the Perth Cup at $140,000 to the winner. The Perth carnival will be followed by the Australian Cup carnival at the Meadows in February where he is certain to gain an invitation into the Group 1 Temlee, then it will be on to the Australian Cup worth $175,000 to the winner.
Dyna Tron is a Red Brindle dog whelped February 2009 by Collision from Gold Rush Bale (Lansley Bale x Jindara Bale) he has raced 47 times for 25 wins and 10 placings with his current stake earnings standing at $422,088.
In December we had eight group races decided. Dyna Tron beat Group 1 winners Mystic Apple and Glen Gallon. Plus Group 2 winners Stetson Donna and No Rules League to win the monthly award.
