Dalalla ran a race record 42.46 to take out the 1999 Gold Cup, defeating Kobble Creek by just over six lengths.

Beer Assassin set a new for 600 metres at in 2011, running 34.36.

El Grand Senor clipped 3/100ths off Brilliant Lee's 440 metres track record at Sale in 2010.

In what was billed as his last public appearance before going to stud, Chief Havoc raced against the clock at in 1947. Officials had set up a series of coloured discs at the 440yds (402m), 500yds (457m), 660yds (603m), 700yds (640m), 750yds (686m) and 800yds (732m) points to let patrons know when any record was equalled or broken. Although running on a wet track and with a blister between the toes of his near hind leg, Chief Havoc broke the 440yds record, equalled the 500yds mark, and broke the 660yds, 700yds, 750yds, and 800yds records. Jack Millerd, his owner-trainer, received £250, £100 appearance money and £25 for each record broken or equalled.

Strathalbyn, the second registered greyhound track in South Australia, opened in 1971. Racing was conducted over 585 yards (535 metres) and 825 yards (754 metres).

Prince Of Tigers set a new track record for 530 metres at when he won the 1997 West Australian Derby by five and a half lengths, running 30.52.

Irma Bale provided punters with a shock when taking out the 2012 Sandown Cup. The Graeme Bate-trained stayer defeated He's My Future by a length with short-priced favourite Miata relegated to third.

Be Faithful won the 1949 Autumn Cup over 800 yards (732 metres) at Harold Park in 43.7 which clipped 2/10ths off her own track record which she had set in April 1947.

Amerigo Man set a new track record of 24.34 for 434 metres at Mudgee in 1988. The time was never bettered.

Sashweight led all the way to score by eight lengths over 750 yards (686 metres) at Newcastle in 1954, running 41.9 to smash the track record by a whopping 6/10ths. The record had previously been held by David's Pet and Robin Buchanan (the winner of the inaugural Bi-Annual Classic, now the Peter Mosman Memorial, in 1952).

True Vintage set a new track record for 457 metres at Hobart when she ran 26.06 in 1988. It was her 15th successive victory.

Bobby Boucheau ran 41.57 to break the Sandown 715 metres track record in 2011, taking 7/100ths off the previous best set by Pillow Torque four months earlier.

Keon Star became the first Victorian stayer to take out the Wentworth Park Gold Cup for 23 years when winning the 1995 running. Keon Star downed Johnny Glenoban and local star Miss Cruise.
