Security Star set a new track record time of 20.03 for the 350 metres trip at Kempsey in 2005.
Lochinvar Prada annexed the 2008 Black Top over 515 metres at the Gardens, defeating Elite Oriental and Cindeen Shelby.

The inaugural National Sprint Championship was run over 500 yards at Harold Park in 1965. The event was taken out by NSW representative Best Sun, trained by Eddie Batiste, who downed fellow NSW sprinters Satyr Rocket and Chariot Charm. The closest interstate runner was Queenslander He's Lightning, with Billy Vee (sixth) the first Victorian across the line.
The Reg Hazelgrove-trained Carnage Maker took out the 2007 Lismore Cup and picked up $25,000 first prize money.

King Cinbon set a new track record of 24.3 for 440 yards on the loam circuit at Harold Park. The loam track had only been opened seven days earlier.
Ascapella Miss collected $640 for taking out the 1974 Interstate Challenge over 704 metres at the Gabba. The South Australian champion defeated local star Captain Winter by seven lengths with arch-rival Miss High Lo third in a new track record time of 41.61.
Freewheeler won the 1988 Victorian final of the National Sprint Championship, held at Olympic Park, defeating Hay Dinney.
The Robert Britton-trained Victorian sprinter One Tree Hill took out the 2007 Black Top at the Gardens, running a fast 29.44 for the 515 metre trip.

Victorian stayer Corcoran won his maiden in 1973. Running over 720 metres at Shepparton, Corcoran scored by 15 lengths and equalled the track record of 43.00.
Chinatown Lad became the first Tasmanian stayer to take out the Chairman's Cup (720 metres, Wentworth Park), winning the 2008 running from Varvatos and kennelmate Fallen Zorro. Chinatown Lad set a new race record time of 42.23.

Peter Brent made it three starts for three wins in taking out the 1949 Maitland Derby, run over 440 yards, by two lengths.
The inaugural Adelaide Cup was won by local sprint star Bristol Miss in 1972. The Doug Payne-trained champion (box 8) scored by five lengths from the smart North Kinta.
Victorian stayer Proven Impala won the 2013 Chairman's Cup by four and a half lengths from the ill-fated Smart Valentino, running a race record 42.01 for trainer Joe Borg.

Cheeky Student took out the 1972 Gippsland Hurdle Championship, run over 540 yards at Warragul, by five lengths from Italian View and Jeandelo, running 30.5/16.
Wylie Boy won the 1995 Traralgon Cup by seven lengths from Sonic Duke to pick up $10,000 for his connections.
New Zealand stayer Know Peace won the 2012 Chairman's Cup (720 metres, Wentworth Park) by three lengths from Victorian star Irma Bale.

Macareena won a Harold Park Stake (top grade) over 500 yards in 1953 by eight lengths in a fast 26.6 to take her record to seven starts for seven wins at the big Glebe circuit.
Cherrie Sepol smashed the 722-metre Wentworth Park track record in taking out the 1978 Metropolitan Cup. Cherrie Sepol scored by 10 lengths and ran a sensational 42.50 to clip 4/100ths off the previous mark held by Kawati Boy.
On the same night, prolific winner Happy Endo took out the final of the NSW Country Championship, run over 530 metres. The victory was her fifth from her previous six outings.
