Fancy Mandy Draws Well In 2010 Golden Easter Egg Semis

Fresh from her near track record performance during the heats, rising NSW star Fancy Mandy will again begin from box four in the semi-finals of the $250,000 to the winner at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

Despite the challenge of again starting from the squeeze box, Fancy Mandy looks to have secured one of the weaker semi finals, and would be considered a warm favourite to advance to the Golden Easter Egg final on Saturday 3rd April 2010.

Tracey Hurst's brilliant beginner made a mockery of her awkward box four draw last week to record the second fastest ever time over the 520m trip at Wentworth Park – just 0.05 second, or less than a length; shy of Queen Lauryn's 29.44 track record mark.

The daughter of and Chantilly Doll is expected to hold the majority of punters money for the first semi-final with the top two advancing to the final of the richest free entry race in the world.

Semi-final two boasts an all-star cast including 2009 Cindeen Shelby, winner High Earner as well as the exciting Victorian trio of Arsonist, Cosmic Rumble and Rookie Rebel winner Flash Of Light.

The third of the Golden Easter Egg semi's see the Victorian pair of Galba Jack and face of against each other yet again. Given the two dogs travel together from their home bases up to Wentworth Park to compete and back home again; and that they were both drawn in the same heat last week, trainers Steve Elsum and John Maple will be hoping they both get to enjoy each others company again on Saturday week.

Many good judges rated Birthday Boy's luckless run in the heats last week as one of the best of the beaten brigades through the Easter Egg heats and although again having to contend with the wide box eight draw, he would again rate a good chance of making the $250,000 to the winner final on a track where he tends to produce his best.

Defending champion Dana Beatrice has been posted out in the seven alley in a difficult fourth semi final. She is trying to become the first greyhound to win the event twice in its 20 year history, while a number of trainers including , Tony Brett and Rod McDonald are chasing the honour of being the first trainer to win the Golden Easter Egg multiple times.

Trying to make the final themselves will be speed greyhounds Snozz, and Excel Like Time*. With a lot of the early pace drawn off the track in this last semi, the result could well be an upset victory or a dominant win if any of the outside division lead clearly to the corner.

*Excel Like Time is an early scratching and now gains the run
