Golden Earring & Hayden’s Run Continue Casino Rivalry

It was a case of history nearly repeating itself when Golden Earing and Hayden's Run battled out the Royal Hotel stake at last .

The judge couldn't separate the pair the previous week, and when they broke away from the pack on Friday, it was another battle for supremacy.

Close to home little separated the two but right on the wire Golden Earing stuck her head out to get the verdict in 27.68. She has now won 5 races from eight attempts at Casino for owner / trainer .

In what has been an eventful week for the Ensby family, it was good to see the well bred Holly We Know salute for Rob and Warren. Living up to her trial in June she raced clear in the back section to win by three lengths in a handy 23.32. She seems a very consistant little thing, and more wins should follow.

had a change of luck when Jessie Be Good won the Northern Rivers Vet Clinic stake.Well positioned early, she was able to grab the front as they went into the back where she raced away. Hanging on strongly, she defeated Snitcher by three lengths in 27.70.

Two heats of a Blue Paws Maiden series over 484 metres were run with the fastest heat going to Bralyn Miami who ran 27.50. A litter brother to the smart unbeaten Bralyn County, he was not the best served at the start, but showed great pace in going to the leaders before racing away. The other heat went to the unusually named Ovvio Uno. Down in class from the rich maiden series at , he got to the lead at the top bend and went on to score by neck from Bralyn Alvin in 28.09.

Vard's Choice kept up his good form for by taking out the Casino Tyre Specialists stake in the best of the day – 27.42. He was second away, but couldn't cross early so he camped outside the leader. Too powerful from that point, he raced away to score by 1 1/4 lengths.

Steve Casey's Flaming Grace raced away with the first of the two distance races winning by 8 3/4 lengths in 35.82, whilst Promises Pretty was too solid in the second, running 35.59 in a 2 1/4 length victory for Gerrard Bowe.

In the other events, Suzie Be Good ran 22.94, the fastest over the sprint course for Joanne Price; kept in the winners circle by clocking 23.33; The well preformed Ima ran 23,21 for Diane Hannon, and Nungi just got in for Ray Gatti in 27.80.

Casino will host an action packed 12 event card again this Friday.
