Thirty Talks takes out 2016 Richmond Riches

QUEENSLAND star has taken out the inaugural 2 Riches (535m) at Richmond on Saturday night, defeating a high quality field to land the $100,000 winner's purse.

Starting from box two as the even money favourite, the -trained greyhound was slowly away and was relegated back to last when finding trouble in the run to the line on the first occasion.

Showing terrific field sense, the brindle dog stuck close to the rails and was able to shoot through along the fence when trouble struck around the first turn, slipping into second spot behind tearaway leader Vidi Vici (box eight) as the field entered the back straight.

Once he found his down the back, the son of Where's Pedro and Unfinished began taking ground off the leader, levelling up to Vidi Vici just after the 618m boxes before unleashing a powerful finishing burst to assume the lead around the outside, shooting clear in the run to the line to score in 30.68.

Joyanna made up good ground in the closing stages to grab second, with Vidi Vici tiring to finish third.

The win made it 11 wins from just 14 starts for the 36 kilogram powerhouse, owned by Leonard Antonio, which has now won in excess of $132,000.
