Tonights Bulli Gold Cup Heats Attract Some Of Australia’s Fastest Greyhounds
Tonights heats for the Ranvet Gold Cup heats at Bulli have attracted some of the fastest Greyhounds in Australia with Melbourne Trainer Graeme Bate bringing up four speedsters to compete for the $25,000 winners purse in the final on Monday May 28.
The opening heat we see an amazing group of greyhounds racing headed by Noble Pedro trained at Appin by Mary Wright, Noble Pedro winner of over $100, 00 has won seven from nine starts at Bulli with his best time 26.17.
Graeme Bate has Allen Hertz vying for a spot in the final and the dog will be having his first run on the track, Allen Hertz has won 14 races at the city tracks as well as the provincial tracks in Victoria.
We have MR. Meana, Lochinvar Blanik, Gundabooka and Flavours all up and coming youngsters with tremendous speed all have the ability to win the race.
Heat two we see a clash of young titans in the likes of Billy The Sid, Things Missing, David Bale and Durbidge all who have brilliant speed.
Billy The Sid trained at Box Hill by Sydney Swain has won his only start at Bulli in the slick time of 26.14 and has won six races from only seven starts,
David Bale from the Bate Kennels is a very fast greyhound has won eleven races at City tracks will also be racing for the first time at Bulli.
The Mark Gatt trained Things Missing is drawn perfectly in box eight will be the hardest to beat and if he can reproduce his best time of 26.08 , the other thing in his favour is that Things Missing has won his only two starts from Box eight.
The third heat Bate has Imry Bale and Allen Elroy engaged with youngster Imry Bale in box One with impressive Melbourne form winning 14 from twenty starts with ten of those wins at city tracks whilst Allen Elroy is no slouch winning ten races at city track in fast times.
Ritza Ryder (Mark Gatt) and Benchmark (Jason Magri) and the much travelled Compacto (Judith Risk) are strong chances to make the final.
