Tickets Please In A Solo Trip

Portland trained greyhound Tickets Please confirmed his class by winning Saturday’s $1000 Elgrando Anniversary Cup final at Mount Gambier’s Tara Park Raceway.

Tickets Please, trained over the border by Robert Halliday, went into the feature event as the more impressive of the two heat winners in qualifying on July 12 and was favourite with the TAB at $2.40.

Tickets Please is a green two-year-old by Elite State out of Itza Rule and had won 10 of his 23 starts for $5485 in stake earnings before yesterday’s success.

On Saturday he started in box eight and won by four lengths from local favourite Addis Classic and Elite Kev in 30.97 seconds.

That was only slightly off the pace of his winning effort in the 512m qualifier.

The owners of Tickets Please collected $620 in prize money.
