Damek November 2010 Australian Greyhound Run Of The Month

's Run of the Month for November 2010 has been awarded to star Tasmanian sprinter , after he for the second time in a month he lower the 461 metre record at Tattersall's Park on November 18.

Starting red hot favourite in a heat of the Tasmanian Gold Cup Damek made a one act affair of the event clocking a blistering 25.79. He took .06 off his own record when he led all the way to win by just under seven lengths.

Damek certainly loves the Hobart circuit the record win was his 10th from as many starts at the track and he returned a week later to win the final just as impressively in 25.97 to keep his unbeaten record in place.

Damek main mission is the 1 Hobart 1000 with the heats on December the 9th and the final a week later on December 16th. In his current form he is certainly the dog to beat and trainer has him racing at his peak in the lead up to the big feature. It is a race that brings together the best horse shoe dogs in the land for the prestige of winning one of Australia's classic's as well as a fantastic $75,000 first prize.

Damek is raced and was bred by Peter Phillips and is trained by Eileen Thomas at Invermay in Tasmania. He is a Brindle Dog whelped March 2008 by Big Daddy Cool from World's Finest (World Title x Foxy Fine) Damek has raced 26 times for 22 wins and two placings and with his overall stake earnings stand at $57,360.

As usual we had some outstanding runs recorded in November but Damek got the nod for his outstanding performance in claiming a city track record, one he had already broken a month before.
