Barcia Bale & Ima Geisha Girl Go Head To Head Again In Maturity Classic Semis

The unbeaten (box four) and freakish sprinter Ima Geisha Girl (box one) will clash again, this time in semi-final four of the 1 Hudson Pacific over 525 metres at this Saturday night.

The two young stars matched motors in one of the most anticipated races of 2012 last week, with Barcia Bale prevailing after an awesome display of speed, running a Best of Night 29.90, three and three quarter lengths ahead of Ima Geisha Girl.

The daughter of and has her chance to turn the tables after coming up with the coveted red alley in a heat that also includes classy chaser Nitro Cee and Peter Rocket, a 30.02 heat winner last week.

Desalle Bale, a greyhound with five wins on the trot, including two sub-30 second gallops at The Meadows, has drawn box six in one of the hardest semi-finals of the night. The -trained star will take on finalist Odie For Now (box two), Meadows specialist Sapporo (box four) and the underrated Proven Maddy (box five), a greyhound with a super 29.84PB at the Broadmeadows circuit.

In the first semi-final, Maverick Tiger looks the one to beat after drawing box seven for the third week in a row. The -trained chaser has returned to the track with two wins from two starts after a four-month lay-off due to injury and looks back to his scintillating best.

In heat three, the -owned pair Garrick Bale (box two) and Razza Bale (box four) look two of the main fancies, and will take on former New South Wales chaser Silver Spider (box five) and the classy Comic Sans (box eight).

The winners and second placegetters from the four semi-finals will progress to Saturday weeks Grand Final, worth $100,000 for the first time in the races 42-year history.

The July 28 climax will be a fantastic night of racing and lots of prizes will be on offer for those on course, including a home-theatre package, pamper packs for the ladies, children's bikes and dinner packages in The Meadows upstairs dining room.
