Heston Bale Drawn To Win Again In Silver Chief Semi Final Tonight

The brilliant Heston Bale has moved to qualifying for his first final after drawing favourably in the third semi-final of the Group 1 AJS Silver Chief at on tonight.

Last week, the son of Bartrim Bale and shaved .16 off Turanza Bale's 525-metre track record, stopping the clock at a 29.45, and will start a short-priced favourite after drawing box one in semi-final three tonight.

The -trained superstar will take on the likes of Lead Singer (box four) – a winner of his last five starts – and runner-up Godsend (box five).

Queenslander , who sped around The Meadows in a sizzling 29.69 in last week's heat, hasn't been granted any favours, exiting box five this weekend in the first of the four semi-finals. The son of U.S. sire and Incoherent faces smart youngsters Whispering Wind (box two) and Exclusivity (box six), both impressive heat winners last week.

Heat two sets up an exciting battle between the flying Cape Hawke (box four) – a 10-length, 29.73 heat winner last week – and the Peter Giles-trained Soda Boy, a greyhound on a seven race winning streak, including his last three at The Meadows.

Group 2 Great Chase winner and Vic. Breeders star Fully Advanced looks one of the main dangers in the last heat of the night, with the Robert Britton-trained Hutmaker and young star Cronos Bale as his apparent dangers.

The first two placegetters from each of the four semi-finals will qualify through to the sought-after Group 1 final on New Year's Day, worth $75,000 to the winner for the first time in the race's 48-year history.

The box draw for the final will be held at The Meadows this tonight.
