Rash Of Not Presenting Greyhounds To Race Continues In Vic
Hot on the heels of several other instances of greyhound trainers in Victoria not presenting greyhounds to race that have been drawn in fields, another instance occurred at yeserdays Sale meeting resulting in the trainer being fined $250.
In Race 1 at yesterdays, Sale greyhound meeting, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Dr Tarlia at 5:00pm, just 41 minutes prior to the running of the race; due to non arrival.
Stewards prmptly conducted an Inquiry into the non-presentation of “Dr. Tarlia” which was engaged to compete in Race 1 at the Sale GRC meeting on 26 October, 2008.
Stewards heard evidence from Trainer, Mr. W. McMahon and after hearing the evidence, Stewards charged Mr. W. McMahon with breach of GAR86(o) for failing to present “Dr. Tarlia” for racing at Sale on 26 October, 2008.
Mr. W. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge and Stewards found Mr. W. McMahon guilty as charged and fined him the sum of $250.
