Ring The Bell books his spot in National Distance Championship

ULTRA consistent stayer has booked his spot in the 1 Championship final with a strong victory in the Victorian qualifier at Park on Thursday night.

Jumping from box seven, the brindle dog was mid-field away and managed to work his way into third spot along the fence entering the home straight on the first occasion.

Stalking the leaders Son Of Bekim (box one) and Come On Fantasy (box five) through the pen, the Gerry O'Keeffe-trained greyhound began his run down the back, assuming the lead along the fence.

Once out in front it was a case of times and margins, with the seasoned campaigner drawing to the line to score by just under seven lengths in a fast 41.53.

Veteran stayer Lady Toy (box three) finished off strongly to claim second spot, with Son Of Bekim sticking on well to finish third.

A son of and Absolute Stunna, Ring The Bell has now won 14 of his 44 career starts, including a terrific victory in the Listed Superstayers at in June.

A three time group finalist, Ring The Bell has now confirmed his spot in the $75,000 to the winner final which will be held at on Saturday August 27, 2016.

The final will see winners from each state final head to Adelaide as well as a wildcard runner for what is promising to be an exciting event.

A win in the honoured event would be another big race title for his already successful litter, with his sister Bells Are Ringin' having won the world's richest staying event, the , in May.
