Sandown Sixes Promo Goes Off On Last Race

The Park grandstand reverberated with the cheers of jubilant patrons when the promotion went off on tonight's last race.

The marketing initiative rewards pre-booked dining patrons with a full reimbursement when three sixes salute in the course of the racenight.

Things looked bleak for the diners when the scorer had not been troubled after five races, but their fortunes began to turn when and surged to victory in the sixth and eight races on the card carrying the green rug.

When Mia Tiger finished down the track in the ninth, all eyes turned to Intoxicate in the last race.

Known for his powerful finish, Intoxicate was slow out from the six box, but still managed to settle within striking range going into the back straight. Going into the third turn he unleashed a well-timed run and quickly rounded up the tiring leaders to the loud roars of rapturous dining patrons.

Two of the bigger groups on the night netted a return of $6,000 as a result of the promotion which went off for the third time since its inception.

In an interesting twist, the third and final greyhound to carry the green vest to victory on the night is owned by none other than long-serving Sandown Director David . David was last seen coyly posing for post-race photos with the most popular winner Sandown has seen in some time.
