Smart Aviator Ready To Fly At Ballarat

The trained has had his fair share of injury problems over the last ten months.

First it was a dropped back muscle sustained in a race at last October, and then when preparing to get back to the track the dog cracked a stopper bone.

The injuries have had the effect of restricting the rising four year to just 25 race starts to date.

Smart Aviator has now had four runs back this time in, and showed last week that he was on the way back with a close up second behind Where's Apollo.

On that occasion he got back his old zip out of the boxes and led until the shadows of the post.

Smart Aviator has drawn Box 4 in the race to be run over 550 metres at Ballarat on Wednesday night.

“He is suited by the race distance, and is improving with each run back from his injuries.” Quinn said.

“His four wins to date have come from boxes one to four, so I am not concerned by his box draw as it suits him to be closer to the rails.”

Throughout his career the son of Blue Aviator has shown that he races best when he can lead, and looms as a definite each way chance in the race.

“If he can lead he is sure to give the opposition something to chase.”

Hardest for Smart Aviator to beat will be Blatisha Bale and Thanks To All.

Blatisha Bale from the kennel has drawn the coveted Box 1, and has an excellent race record from this box draw.

She has plenty of pace out of the boxes and always provides a good sight for her admirers.

The trained was a last start winner at .

The son of former local champion Vapour Whirl has a tendency to be slow out of the boxes, but has a powerful finishing burst which will put him in contention.
